Changin’ Macon Social Club
CMSC was established to bring Macon citizens from all professional and economic backgrounds together, in a social setting, for the purpose of:
Sharing information and ideas concerning issues affecting the City of Macon
Outreaching to organizations, associations, educational entities, and community projects to effect change
Serving as an ‘agent for change’ by organizing the CMSC members as a cohesive unit to take action
CMSC has held monthly meetings since its’ inception. At each of the monthly meetings, a speaker relating to a specific area of concern to The City of Macon gives the membership a short (10 – 20 minute) presentation on the issue he/she represents.
Additionally, the membership of CMSC has contributed in-kind services and donations to assist a variety of community needs including Kid’s Yule Love, LH Williams Elementary School, Southwest High School, The Bragg Jam and The Playground at Waterworks Park.
CMSC publishes an e-newsletter on a weekly basis. This e-newsletter is used to highlight civic and community events, to support non-profit agency out-reach, to inform/remind the membership of long-term museum venues/community activities, and to request assistance for specific projects which have been undertaken by the membership. |
